Classic and Easy Party Games you might remember....

Wink Murder - Materials NONE!  Ages 5-100
All you have to do is be able to wink!  This classic game is easy to play.. just sit around so that you can see each other.
Pick the Murderer - everyone closes their eyes (no peaking) and one person (the chooser) taps one of the players on the head or shoulder to let them know they will be the killer this game. When ready.. sitting down, the chooser says "Open your eyes"  thats really when the game begins.
The Game - everyone looks around the room at each other including the murderer.. he or she will WINK at you.. if they do, wait 5 seconds... then fake your death.. announcing "I'm Dead"    The murderer should not tell anyone.. but if you spot them.. before they get you.. announce "I know who the murderer is!" If you are right.. you win and become the next chooser. If you are wrong.. sorry - you are dead now too.
 
Some games we played as kids are great  - we just need to update them.  Ok.. I am dating myself with this one.

Milk Jug & Clothes Peg Game.. standing tall, with a milk jug at your feet and a clothes peg in your mouth.. you drop the clothes peg and try to get it into the jug.  To update this game.. how about dropping a stick pretzel into a water bottle?
 
Once - a story telling game - materials NONE
Another ice breaker or sit around game.  Someone goes first and says "Once upon a time.. " then they tell a story about themselves. It can be short or long.. and it can be the truth or a LIE!   Everyone else listens.. and at the end.. the story teller asks " Is it  true or false?"  Everyone votes.. thumbs up for truth - thumbs down for lies.  There is no winner.. we all win when we share stories and learn about each other.  The story teller can choose who goes next.  You will be suprised at how engaging this game is .. with teens, adults and children.
 
Musical Chairs - Materials chairs & music - Ages 2-100.
Start with a chair for almost everyone and play music.. everyone dances around the chairs. Each time the music stops everyone sits down.. but with not enough seats.. the ones left standing are out.  Start up the music again but take another chair away .. lose a chair each time and someone gets out each time. (to make being out easier.. let them be the first one to get a prize for playing.. or let them have a turn to shut the music off)

Freeze Dance - Materials Music and space - Ages 2 - 100
Same idea.. music and dance.. music stops - everyone FREZZE. If you move you are out. You can always keep dancing.. just in another spot. (to make being out easier.. let them be the first one to get a prize for playing.. or let them have a turn to shut the music off)  For younger kids.. they will just get excited about the dancing and stopping.. no being out required.

Pass the Package -  Materials: prize, wrapping paper & music -  Ages 3 - 100
Ahead of time... wrap a small prize.. over and over again.  ok.. over and over again.  Sit in a circle and pass the package.. every time the music stops.. that person takes off a layer.  (to add extra excitment.. put another prize or two in different layers of the package so there is more than one winner)  Another variation.. place clues rather than prizes on the back of each wrapping paper.  That player follows the clue to a hidden prize.
